Hey Guys,
I didn't want to reply to this thread when the DVDs were still available in case people thought it was marketing. I wanted to give more transparency to the whole release and generally how I like to do things.
1. Pricing...Everyone who guessed a price for the DVD set guessed higher than the actual price. We could definitely have priced it higher and made more money. I decide the price of everything we do based on what I think people can comfortably afford, not what we can squeeze out of people. Our bootcamps are the cheapest even though we spend the most on delivering them (all trainers are PAID not free workers, we give 1on1 time with Ollie and Kezia, we pay for 6 HBs to come in). Annihilation Method was $3600 and I think that is disgusting. 18 DVDs for $300 is less than $20 per disc. Each disc is FULL and not 40 mins. I hope people would agree that that is fair.
2. The payment plan is not a trick. Again, I would much rather have collected the money up-front, but it was asked for by everyone (the same guys guessing the price!) leading up to the launch. I wanted to offer an option to pay all at once but we developed a custom shopping cart and this functionality wasn't ready in time.
3. The continuity product is in there but is not compulsory and can be cancelled very simply - there are no hoops to jump through. As it stands, the subscription product I think is excellent and again priced at a reasonable $20 per disc. The content on these features me, Adam, Matt, teaching everything we know.
4. In terms of releasing this product in the first place. PUATraining have a following. Whether you are someone who likes our stuff or not, you can recognise that there are many people who would like to watch us on DVD. I have received emails asking about a DVD for the past 2 years. It's our first DVD and we are not releasing one a month and scraping the barrel to put together the content.
5. My view on money and the community...YES there are way too many product launches, and yes a lot of the stuff is rubbish. I will only release something if I think it is something valuable and worthwhile. If this was all about money for me, i'd do things a lot differently and actually I wouldn't be in this business at all because in the past 3 years, i've made less money than I was making in the 7 before that (yes even when I was 18).
Since the release of the home study course, i've done 2 major revisions, and added a free audio version, all of which could have meant "re-launches" and price rises. I do these things just because I wouldn't be able to sleep easy at night if I didn't think people liked our stuff.
That's how it is from my side. I'm the boss of a seduction company. Although we are a business in the sense that we have an office and charge people money, what I ask myself is whether people are better off for reading my book, buying our products, or doing our live events. The overwhelming answer for me is yes. I'm glad Neil Strauss wrote The Game and helped me get started in changing my life. I hope I can have the same impact on guys that find our stuff first. Not everyone in business is bad or has bad intentions. If you have any genuine questions along the lines of stuff discussed in the thread (from the business to whether I think you can learn natural game (hint - I learnt it so you can guess my viewpoint!), to whether we just teach mystery method) and want to direct them at me, i'm all ears!
