1. if the girl lives far away, should I bother contacting her? the problem is not so much the distance. the problem is she might think "what a chump. he has nothing better to do than drive 2 hours to meet me?"

2. should girls that state in their profile "looking for relationship" be avoided? do they say this because they dont want to look bad, or they really mean it?

For the purpose of these questions, the girls are semi attractive, probably receiving lots of messages from other guys.

I usually never go for women further than 10-15 miles. I really wouldn't go past 25 miles as it is an inconvenience to meet. It requires coordination and plans. I think closer, the better. The further the way they are, I find communication is usually prolonged and the actual meeting becomes more "tense". You have to think, that both parties are investing their time and efforts into meeting someone. If it's someone local, I believe its less stressful. Because if you don't end up hitting it off, the time investment isnt a hit. From my experience, when you begin talking to someone on POF, you should aim to meet them within a week or two. There are many women on that site, joining daily by the masses. I have Fully Closed with more women on that site than in any field. You need to build your persona on the site, create your character and then become that person when you meet the girl. Follow the steps and you CAN close. As far as the girls who say they want a relationship, I would ignore anything they are looking for. Because I have hooked up with girls who claim to be seriously pursuing serious relationships. Remember it's a Game and the objective to win them over. POF is a goldmine.

I've found that the girls who put " Actively Loving for a relationship" or "looking to get married" are the quickest to take their clothes off because you're REALLY looking for something.

The women who put " no seeking anything serious " or " wants casual dating" are the most ridgid because they are bombarded with sexual messages from guys all day long. So this reality naturally makes them a lot more careful with their choices.

If you haven't learned already.. With women you pretty much want to do the opposite of everything that you think you're supposed to do.

As far as distance.. POF is a numbers game.. I've had girls that lived .5 miles away from me that wouldn't see me and i've had women 30 miles away from me who i clicked with over FaceTime chat and they drove right on over to my place.

Theres no real formula with the thing; you're basically just looking for the women you connect with. The distance won't matter much(under 30 miles) when you find that connection. Pick a cool, funny, one liner opener and spam it to a bunch of girls until you find the ones responsive with you sense of humor. Its Easy money.
