Hey Zip,
Given that valentines day is coming up in a few short days why don't you let the public know if you/women expect any difference in a normal date vs a date on the notorious V-day. I feel as if a lot of guys on here might possibly throw in the towel using the special day as a scapegoat to resort back to their AFC ways for the night setting a horrible precedent. I would like to know if you, speaking on behalf of most women, expect a little bit more of a date vibe on valentines day then a standard "day 2." And if so, what would that be...
Personally for my date on thursday, I was just thinking about bringing a single rose to give to my valentine but other then that I wasn't really thinking anything different.
And more importantly, when I come to New York in the middle of March where are you going to take me for my birthday?

Alright, here's the deal with V-Day.
It's just a card holiday. However, it's a fake holiday that women are obsessed with.
Here's a question for all you guys out there: If it's a Day 2 or a girl you're not hard-core dating, why the hell asking her out on THAT day? Can't you wait? You've just shot yourself in the foot, unless you congruently want to get a bit more romantic with her.
Here's the thing, you don't have to go crazy on V-Day, but if you've been seeing the girl for a while, you need to do SOMETHING on V-Day. Get creative. Don't spend major moolah on a gift, unless she deserves it. That's something you have to gauge for yourself.
Okay, let's say you've totally fucked yourself over... you've got a date with a girl you're not serious about on V-Day... just make it FUN. Don't even start leaning into the "romantic" because she'll start expecting things she shouldn't (and rightfully so, she's following YOUR cues, even though you don't know you're dropping them.)
If V-Day is an early date for you and your lady-friend... just remember that it sets the tone for the rest of your dates. If you ruin her V-Day by not doing ANYTHING when you take her out... she will resent you for ruining the entire year for her. You have to keep it light, keep it fun, keep it nice. I suggest grabbing a flower while you're walking around, literally picking it from something on the street or some other found object, imbue it with some fun feeling (you can use anchoring if you know how,) and that should be really appreciated by the chick.
If she scoffs at it... hell, she just saved you possible weeks of misery. Drop her immediately.
