So new opener I came up with – built in DHV – standard structure – however, it’s somewhat regional as I expect it works better in SF / LA than somewhere like the Midwest simply due to strange health nuts / ‘natural living’ mentality that seems all too prevalent.

AllDay: Question for you: Do you believe in natural medicine?

ADLS: So if someone you cared about was suffering from a non-life threatening illness that was making them miserable nonetheless, would you still advocate a natural remedy?

ADLS: Interesting. The reason I ask is that I have a close friend who SWEARS that tea / herbs / roots and the kind will cure anything. She’s very into the whole eastern medicine thing. Problem is, she has this super cute puppy that’s habitually sick and seeing him like that is making her miserable. She keeps giving him herbs and various homeopathic remedies, but he doesn’t seem to get better. Obv. I want both her and the dog to happy, but don’t want to tell her how to raise her puppy or that obv. nuts and berries aren’t doing the trick – so what do you do in that situation?

I’ve not fully decided how I want to frame it. Not sure if I want it to be an ex who is now just a friend or just a friend. I think throwing in “ex” is a little TMI and feels unnatural. Do like the little pre-selection DHV aspect of the open however.

I also like the possibility of negging for being a hypocrite when they are into natural remedies but wouldn’t suggest them if a loved one was sick. You can point out that they are good liars / etc – and stack into some various lying game (or simply multiple thread / introduce it like “you’re a total liar!!! allowing you to easily transition later into “you know how I could tell you were full of shit??? Etc etc etc).

Anyway – first original opener I came up with as I’ve only been studying “The Game” for a couple weeks now. Would love some feedback.

Not too bad. If you feel like saying an ex sounds too weird just go for a good friend. I think the second line youve got sounds a little weird but overall it sounds pretty good. Test it out sometime and post back how it works.
