What you're talking about is being a Leader. You're gonna lead your friend into doing this.
Your question highlights the fears you have to get over to make it happen.
Blow past all these fears, control what YOU can control, and Lead.
You can control who you bring to film you. If your friend is a dick and he's gonna blow you out or fvck up your approaches, don't use him as cameraman.
Your friend might bust your balls a little if you get blown out trying to pick up a girl, that's okay. What I'm trying to say is you didn't want your Mom there giving you a hug anyway. Him being supportive of your mission doesn't mean he has to hold your hand, you're a man.
If he does turn into a dick (like trying to fvck up your approaches), find a new friend. Buddies can bust your balls but a real friend should support you in trying to get/achieve more in your life. He shouldn't allow you to quit.
What else you can control: Doing your best approach possible. You can't control the girls reaction. and it takes skill and practice to do it right, and you have to accept that you will get blown out. But it's not a big deal. I mean are you gonna loose a limb, is she gonna beat you up? NO. Is that the last woman on earth? NO.
If it doesn't work out with him filming do it without filming or with another friend. If you don't want to totally blow out on camera do it without filming.
Do not give up on the energy you have right now to approach! You have good momentum going, don't let minor details trip you up.
