Thanks in part to this forum I am slowly building my game. You guys are doing a great job. Now on to my question

I know this girl from high school, an HB8, started talking to her through FB after 7 yrs and got her number.

I initially called, no answer so I shot her a text and it all began. In the course of the convo, I told her I was taking her out tomorrow at 3 which she responded with "I won't be around tomorrow". Then I tried to make a more comfortable situation by asking her to come along to see the Avengers because I was taking my little bro to see it tonight. I knew she would say no because it was her sister's bday but I threw it out there. I also knew from what I read that movies on first dates suck but I figured if I threw my little bro into the mix it would be a DHV of some kind. Sure enough she responds with "it's my sister's bday so I'm going to hang out with her". I closed with "a fangulo lol. Ciao". She responds with an "Lol"

1. Texts were 1 to 1 ratio, none of her texts were one word answers
2. Did I show DLV by asking her out twice within the same convo? Afterward all I could think was I shouldn't have said anything about tonight because it looks like I am breaking my plans for her. If so, how much of a hole have I dug here?
3. Should I wait until she starts things off next time? If this doesn't matter and I can still initiate, I am thinking to wait at least until Tues. because it's obvious she has shit to do this weekend, mothers day and all, so to text Monday would show neediness.

First, i think asking her twice is a DLV and shows neediness. knowing that it is her sister's bday tomorrow is good, you can plan out on inviting yourself to join her family AS A FRIEND, you don't want her thinking "this guy is wierd, he is always kissing my ass". Start your texting games with hook-up openers like "i have a little problem with my friend, i know that i can't answer this one but an intelligent woman could, can you help me out?" about 78% of the time, she will answer. tell her you need the conversation via call. Then come up with a story or better yet, use the jealous gf opener. she will be glad to answer that one. You have sparked interest and tell her that you need to go(time-constraint) by doing such, you have made a frame that you are not needy and willing to cut the conversation.
