The other night I went out and had my two strongest sets ruined by the friend who wanted to leave. When I first entered the party I saw a girl I knew who was walking towards the exit with her friend. She stopped to talk with me, but her friend who I did not know walked a few feet farther, and was waiting by the door. I was doing pretty well and getting IOI's but after several minutes her friend told her that they had to go. A bit later I was doing very well with another girl, who I had started talking to when she was by herself, but after several minutes her friend entered our conversation and blurted out, "So are you going to ask her for her number, or what?" Having no intention of asking for her number since I don't like phone game, we both laughed it off and continued talking. A few minutes later when I was about to isolate, her friend said it was time for them to leave, and started to walk off. My target grabbed her and told her to wait a little longer, then said her goodbyes, and left with her friend. What should I have done differently in these situations. Should I have introduced myself to the friends and tried to involve them in the conversation, try to get a buddy to wing for me, or something else?

I don't think wing man is necessarily, and it doesn't sound like the friend of the girl destroyed any sexual tension, she could of even helped, even though she was trying to do the opposite, i'm not sure how you're going to meet up with her if you don't have her phone number though?!

- walking home drunk from the bar

Illogical, I think just introducing yourself to them and chatting them up for a small moment would definitely help ease the situation and keep them more patient. I guess sometimes there are times when you just can't close the deal that night and a phone number must be obtained.
