So, i recently broke up with my girlfriend. And now i'm after her super hot friend. We've talked a little bit, but not a whole lot. When we did talk, she was giving me some IOI's (I guessed it was through social proof of her friend that I was dating). So, my question is: When i make the official approach, do I just go straight to increasing my value, or do I challenge and neg her a bit?

That's a difficult question to answer considering we don't know anything about the girl or the interaction you two have. Also, we don't know how long ago you broke up with your ex, which could play a factor in this whole situation.

You neg and increase value if necessary, so a calibration aspect is also needed in this case.

Ask yourself, is this girl giving you IOIs or do you think you're the one SEEING IOIs? She might be friendly, and you may be taking things out of context, so who knows.

Is your ex going to play a role in this new interaction? how good of friends are this new girl and your ex?

You have to be able to answer those questions at least
