Hey all,
I'm a (male) dance teacher from Vancouver BC, I teach adult social casual dance classes at different studios. I'm looking for some advice from the community here because I've noticed that the turnout ratio is basically 10:1 in terms of a much greater female turnout. I'm sure we all know it's a good way to getting noticed but why is it that so little number of guys participate?

I know that guys want to learn to dance but how come they're not taking some time to learn? If you were an afc why do you think you may not invest some time in learning how to dance?

thanks a ton in advance,
B

Most of the cases I guess because guys think dancing is a gay thing, or dancing is not something cool to them. Shyness comes in the second place! Some guys don't have time to take classes seriously, like me. And the other ones I suppose don't see opportunities to use what they just learned.

I will use my case, like example:

I like slow dances, but the classes near my home who teach this have a schedule very hard to me to follow. And opportunities for a slow dance are rare (unless around here), what makes this just a hobby.

And to finish my answer: many guys just give up from many things. Like PU, many guys know about PU and want to master it, just a few become PUA. Like PU, dancing is something that takes time to learn, is not something that you learn in a week.

I guess you're saying that most guys are not seeing it as any sort of priority.. Interesting how that is, I thought most guys know by now girls like guys who can dance. any other thoughts?

Yes.

Dancing is something that will make you get some girls in specific situations. So most of the guys focus on learn what will make their games get better for all situations.

I am not saying dancing is a small thing, I am saying there are bigger ones!
