Okay, first journal entry.
I want to talk about last saturday (February 5th). We had a gig with my band (I play guitar) in a town about 50km from here. I had just looked at some of Cajun's philosophy about body language and decided to try to implement some of his stuff on stage. I felt great the whole gig, kept a cool and collected, yet fun and energetic vibe on through the whole show. I could see the women in the audience responding to that and I tried to establish some eye contacts and get some connection going (which is surprisingly difficult with all the lights and stuff, even though everyone was watching me).
Anyway, the gig went great and afterwards in the backstage area a weird thing happened: a couple of random drunken dudes came in with some HB8 and complimented me on the show, shook my hand and stuff. We exchanged a few words and I began doing something else (changing my shoes or whatever). Suddenly this girl is standing right in front of me with an intense stare right into my eyes. She asked me if I had seen a marker pen anywhere. Now this might seem like a random question, but in those circles it pretty much means "would you like to have sex with me?" (It was in finnish so dont beat your self up if this doesn't make sense). Well, me being the AFC that I am, froze completely, mumbled something about not having seen one and got out of the backstage as quickly as possible. I never saw her again.
Nothing special happened for the rest of the night. I was trying to lock eye contact with a few girls a'la David Shade and had a couple of interesting looks thrown at me but we had to get going pretty soon so I didn't have a chance to really get in the game.
Now you might consider this a massive failure (wich it was of course) but I actually got a positive kick out of it. This was the first time a girl has ever come on to me so strong and it proves that all the stuff I learned about body language, eye contact, etc. really work! Of course I was kicking myself for the rest of the night and we had a good laugh about it with our drummer (who is pretty much a natural at this stuff). But all in all, it was a nice confidence booster. And I learned some new things about body language and stage prescence.
Oh yes, and to open up the list of observations:
Observation 1: Observations are difficult to make (just to get the list started

)
Observation 2: Instead of saying (for example) "you have a nice bag" it might be better to say "I like your bag". (Stronger frame).
