Dunno man. You painting them because you're a goth? "I'm a goth".
You painting them because you want attention? "I want attention"
"Because it looks cool" can work too. It doesn't really matter what you say in this instance - but if you're cowering in fear as you say it, or you're trying really hard to impress them with a witty answer, you're screwed.
