Yea, I met some girls online... As far as them being fake, to me they were fake because they looked nothing like their picture...or was a picture of them 5 years ago when they were actually hot.

Never met someone online who turned out to be a guy though...I guess I am lucky in that dept. A buddy of mine met this one chick online and she only wanted to do it up the arse...buddy being confused decided to go for the puss and low-and-behold, the girl was a John...got his crap and ran like a bat outta hell he did....

Was funny after we talked about it later....and he thought he was going to F-close her...LOL....you can only laugh about it.

Lesson Learned: make sure your lady is a Jane and not a John...

Look at their pointer finger, femanine females have a pointer finger long as or longer than their ring finger...unless they are lesbian...Masculine guys have their pointer finger shorter than their ring finger (unless they are gay)....go test for yourself. You will be suprised at your findings. Good way to test when out and about.

But this was a diff story.. see some girl friend requested me on myspace, and i accepted.. never really thought about it. then she keeps msgin me and stuff and turned out to be a good person. so i told her we should talk on the phone then.

i was very reserved bout it though because she goes to college in florida and i go to penn state, so i never expected much to arise from it. but then we got really close for a very long time. she said she wanted to date and everything. finally i said ok well lets hang out. she was gonna come visit but her aunt died in new zealand (where shes originally from). so she had to fly down there durin thanksgiving break. then i said its all good we can do something xmas break. cuz flights from this local airport i live by, to orlando, is like 39 dollars. so cheap.

well i started to get suspicious because we got so close and i asked her to take a pic with her name written on my hand real fast (just to prove she was her). she said yeah np she will def do it. but then things kept comin up that day. (legitimate things, so i let it go and forget bout it for a while)

but then things got more and more suspicious and before too long things just werent adding up in certain areas. like her brother, who id gotten close with over the last 2 months (on myspace, just like i did with her at first)... his name is john. he looked so familiar. then i finally realized why he looked so familiar. he was secondhand serenades lead singer.

she gave me many hints thru out the months that her brother was a musician, how he always is out playing and has shows.. i never connected the dots and she never connected them for me. but she lied big time about him. because i simply dont believe thats her real brother. idk wtf kind of web i got caught in. cuz she has a new zealand accent, but her "brother" does not. if you watch any interview with him talking, he is from america. his bio even states that. she said those are lies and inaccurate, etc.

i majored in psychology and am going for a masters, and i didnt even hear the SLIGHTEST red flag throughout the months we'd talk on the phone, sometimes hours a day. then BAM, out of nowhere, i find out her whole family is a lie. how does someone do that? how does someone remain perfectly sane sounding, have a sense of humor, be completely normal, but then completely lie about her family and everything? i dont get it....

Stick to meeting woman in real life, not online...some dating sites are 'ok' for practice (maybe even myspace) but bottom line, you don't want to buy a cat in the sack, you want to see what you are getting BEFORE you get involved.

Try to stick with local girls is your best bet.

Well same thing really traveled, lost phone asked for pic said she was getting one, doesn't have webcam. Looks completely legit talked to her off in on for 6months. Sounds like a girl cute girl with real whispery voice, very good at sounding ill. Only has myspace messenger! Came back in town got into car wreck, went to recovery for month, broke her laptop vanished...

Really weird not sure if shes real quite yet, guess only way you can do it is if you send them a link to your website with a picture on a html page that tracks their ip address. Gonna bust this chick!! One way or another

this isn't fool proof but there is a site that does reverse image searches called www.tineye.com

but a lot of the fakes out there will use stolen model pics and usually they will pop up on that site. basically if you check on one of her pics and it shows up previously posted on 3 or 4 sites then odds are she is fake. it also lets you know the date each was posted. so if you ask her when she took the pic and she says august and the pic was first posted on another site in may well then obviously she's fake. this helps with the "too good to be true' types mostly. but hopefully i've saved a few of you some grief.

I trust my intuition and if I think the pics are fake or they are headshots only, I just ask for different photos. If they don't oblige then I move on.

well you have to go by intuition. in this day and age almost everyone has a camera phone. so if they can't provide more pics or send some from a friends phone then something is up. i do want to say this though too. not every unbelievably hot girl is a fake!!!! i have been skeptical a number of times where they ended up going on webcam and i was totally wrong.

ok i just got hit with one just now.. I knew this profile was fake on myspace but i had it on my friends list *i got over 5k for the hell of it*..
and today this random chick messages me

Im thinking this person could be fake too, if this real chick really did give me her facebook email etc. i added the facebook one, waiting for approval if she does accept.

The original fake profile only has 1 pic, this girl that messaged me claiming to be the chick has about 2-3 different pics on her myspace but i cant view because im not on her friends list, then the email address she gave me for facebook, has a different picture.

This is easier than it looks Tekryder...just ask to be friends so you can see her profile and pics. If she doesn't do it then let her go.

I agree with skypirate. If she doesn't FB friend you and her messages seems somewhat generic and orchestrated, let her go.

Another tip, when messaging them (I say them cause you don't know if its a girl or guy yet for sure) talk about current events. If the response sounds off, then that person is fake.
