I met her 2 days ago in person, have her on msn but no number...

I'd try to find out that you both have an interest in. Then have something planned with some friends involving that activity, and be like, "Hey, well I'm doing x activity with some friends this day so maybe I'll give you a call and let you tag along."
Chances are, since you don't have her number she'll make that known. Then she'll either give you her number, or you're gonna have to ask.

In my experiences I've only had to ask once, and she gave it to me anyways.
