Background
I am an AFC that only just got into the game I live in New Zealand and our we have 2 major colleges in Auckland City. I was with a couple of friends at my college when this girl who I knew back in high school (not very well) walked past me and waved hi. Because i figured its always good to get some practice i texted her about 10 minutes later. This is how it went:


Me (thursday 11:22am): Don't you go to (her college)?

HB (Friday 9:16 am): Hey sorry 4 da l8 tb. Yeah I go to (her college) lol.

Me (2:20pm): Oh its okay, I assumed you got kidnapped by my fellow students for coming on our territory

HB (2:21): Lol! I went to visit sum frends =] i live like 2 seconds from (my college) haha

Me (2:34 pm): Oh flatting? And here I am with my 1 hour bus rides

HB (2:36) Just livin by myself. Hahaha Yea da 1 hr bus rides =.= how fun XD

Me (2:42 pm): Its really fun actually, i love waking up early to stand on a cramped as bus... okay I'm lying. Share your flat with me!

HB (2:44): Oh yes dont u just love dat! Haha then you would only have to wake like half an hr b4 ur lectures

Me (2:55 pm): Okay you're just rubbing it in now. Oh well you could probably never be my SPAM anyway (trying to set her up to ask why so I can make her qualify herself)

HB (2:59) Yea haha Lol i live in a studio so you would just have to camp on my floor lol

Me (3:05 pm):Well actually the reason i was thinking was im picky about who i live with. My SPAM must be able to cook, let me take the good room and definitely not have a smoke machine (its well known that she has a smoke generator at her house for dance parties)

HB (3:07) Lol wata bully... steal da good room. Lol smoke machine? Just cook yourself you lazybum!

Me (3:12 pm) Well whatever that fabeled machine that generates smoke at your house is called. I actually make the greatest pancakes. Too bad you'll never get to try them huh

HB (3:13) Lol! Wat dat smoke machine is cool! Lol Omg do u! Make me pancakes!

Me (3:22 pm) Ah I would but since you're making me camp on the floor, I don't think I want to anymore

HB (3:26 pm) Aww

Me (3:32) Those sad puppy dog eyes arent gonna work on me. But buying me coffee might

HB (3:33) oki ill buy u a coffee and u make me pancakes!! Yay ^^

Me (3:35) Haha deal

HB (3:36) Yaay! Pancakes!!

Me (3:46) Dont forget my coffee

HB (3:47) Lol i wont. Wen do you wanna come make me pancakes??

Me (3:52) Wow someone's eager. Hmm next monday?

HB (3:55) I <3 pancakes hehe:D hmm not sure bout mon. I think im going home on sun. Maybe wed? or wenever you wanna make me pancakes lol

Me (4:03) Weds good, ill be at (my college) selling v's for my business that day. Speaking of which, come buy one, only 2 dollars!

HB (4:06) Oh aye? Wher ar u sellin? Lol I dont drink v but ok i can come along lol see ur business thing XD

Me (4:22) You know where our market is? its like our version of your market

HB (4:22) Like by da bookship

Me (4:26) Yup. Not sure exactly where in that area but around there but around there

HB (5:05) Ohk wat time ar u guys ther?

Me (6:12) After 9, not sure when we finish though

HB (6:16) Ohk cool ill come visit then lol

Me (6:21) Sounds good I gotta go, im going out soon. See you

HB (6:25) oki l8rs. Hav fun~

Me to my self: (Great, now i got to learn how to make pancakes)


The conversation kind of died down at the end, so i just tried to exit as quickly as possible. I think she showed a fair amount of IOIs so id say that shes attracted.

Now my questions are, what could I have done better once the texting died down, and how do I keep her feeling this level of attraction? I mean it will be almost a week since I've texted her this til when we meet on wednesday (I haven't texted her again so far). Won't it be awkward?

I think you did a really good job texting her, keeping it fun and playful, so I wouldn't worry about it being awkward. Anyways, you can frame the interaction however you want, so just keep treating her like you have been, and you'll be fine.

It's okay that you haven't talked to her in about a week, it just means that you both have your own lives, and are busy people (DHV).

Good luck in learning to make those pancakes! Maybe get some chocolate chips and whipped cream...for more than just pancakes hopefully

Okay, here is my advice to you:

Step 1: Have pancakes for 1 meal a day for a week (to practice making them).

Step 2: Ask what kind of pancakes she likes (ex. strawberry, banana, choc chip, etc...)

Step 3: Procure this ingredient before going to her house...

Step 4: Make the pancakes she wants... tell her you have never made this kind before, so cross your fingers. If the pancakes are great, huge DHV because you not only made her favorite kind, but your'e just so good you did it amazingly on your first try. If they aren't so great, you have a valid excuse, what with it being your first time.

Step 5: K-close after touching her lips because she has some "syrup" on them.

Okay guys a bit of an anti climax

I texted her the night before:

Me: Chocolate, strawberry or caramel?

her (after a long wait): huh uhh chocolate!

Me (after equally long wait): I knew youd say that

her: lol! you can read my mind XD. Whats the chocolate for? Pancakes?

me: yup. I finish my v shift at 12 but i have to quickly grab something from my lecturer at 1 ( i probably should have just said "if youre lucky", hitting myself now)

her: i have lecture 2 - 4

me (realising I cbf waiting for 3 hours): Oh well thats okay, i can just go hang out with someone else anyway

her(after a long wait): Erika wants some pan cakes too (her friend)

Me(after another equally long wait. confused at why she ignored me and just said her friend also wants pancakes): Of course she does, so does everyone

her: wow your pancakes must be really good!

Me: Ah well maybe next time

her: Aww ><yeah just text me wenever your free to come make pancakes! XD lol

Then the next day while selling vs she came to check out my stall. I basically didnt mention anything about our texts and just tried to get her to buy our vs(i think i fucked it up here but i was trying to make a profit lol). she didnt want to and left. Saw her again 5 minutes ago on the way to uni and she was waved and said you need to make me pancakes!

So i was thinking dont text her for a week and approach other girls, then ill text her and tell her im free at night if she wants to hang out

which school are you at? I'm was at UoA and now I'm at AUT
