I recently was in the hospital for a Sleep Study (during the day) and i had a bunch of wires glued to my head, back, chest, and face. Then all of those wires were bunched up into a bundle and connected to a box that was secured on my chest. I looked like Darth Vader freshly out of Robotic Sugery. I was allowed on a lunch break and was able to leave the hospital for an hour or so. The catch was i had to leave all the wires on.
So i left the parking lot of the hospital with the midset of going through a drive thru, to avoid people seeing me. I only had Hundreds in my wallet unfortunatley. (the night before i had sold a firearm to a friend)
So i decide to get some gas and cash in a Hundred from some smaller bills because i figure a Drive Thru is not going to take Hundreds. So i pull up to the gas station and my heart is racing because i look like a freak. I got out of my car and the girl pumping gas almost shit her pants. She most likely thought all the wires and devices on my chest was a bomb and i was going to blow the gas station to hell. I thought it was funny. I couldn't help but smile. So i walked inside and got some gas on my pump and i pumped gas. While outside i thought to myself, "I dont care what people think". So i decide to go to a local Resturant that is famous for being packed at lunch time. The whole local military base will take lunch at the same time and raid this place. I thought it would be a good exercise for me. I pull into the parking lot and cruise around for some parking, and it is packed. I finally get inside and people are not noticing me as much as i thought. So i think to myself "maybe this wont be as humiliating as i thought" Then i started to notice the looks. People woud look at me and giggle or look away quick. I made sure i had a good time on everyones watch. When someone would look at me i would smile. This would produce a genuinely kind reaction. When others would look at me and i would look down or look away, they would continue starring. I then started planning routines in my head. If someone asked me what the wires were about i would say"I am a robot sent her to find you." or "I am a science experiement gone horribly wrong and i need your help".
I used them a few times and they worked. People became interested, it would make them laugh, and ease the tension. We then continued a serious conversation in which i kept their attention. It just goes to show that really, it doesnt matter what you look like.

I just love this. Even I wouldn't have the balls or the motivation to go out looking like darth vader ! RESPECT.

This shows people that its not always the outer that matters, for example:

You get a christmas present. You look at the gift wrap first but you couldn't care less. Now you get a good look at the size of the gift and you might get excited, but still, nothing matters as much as whats inside of it.

Apparently i cant post pics yet. But i will asap. But here is some more info about the pic and the day.

One must also realize that i was looking like complete GARBAGE that day! i was in Sweats, a Darth Vader T-Shirt (Ironically) and a Black Hoodie.
I had been in the hospital for about 8 hours before they let me free.
I didnt do my hair, i was unshaven, and i had been sleeping on and off as part of the sleep study, i prob had morning breath! haha, didnt stop me from talking to people. I had a girl take my pic and send it to me, so this pic is courtousy of her.
