In my class we sit in rows. First day of school as soon as I walked in the classroom I scanned for the hottest girl- boom, an HB10. The only seat available by her was the seat behind her so I took it. I think this may have screwed me over. This is now my daily seat and her back is always facing me. The ideal seating spot would've been the one next to her or in front of her but those were taken and on top of that, there's a fat gay guy who sits in front of her and they both talk to each other often. History isn't my strongest subject so I don't raise my hand a lot and don't really discuss much with the people around me; which includes a quiet boy on my left and a weird ugly girl behind me. I've tried engaging the gay dude- I asked for his name and he kinda shook me off because I got it wrong. She constantly chats with him...how am I supposed to compete with a gay guy?

Short answer is you don't. He's not trying to get near her, he's just a friend. It may sound weird, but treat them like a two-set. A lot of gay guys are quite effeminate - they get close to girls because they're similar to them.

Personally I don't see how a classroom set is gonna work, I think you'd need to do it outside of class. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd think it'd take some skill and some annoyance. Your time is wasted if your interrupted - anything you had going goes down the drain in an instance. Therefore, somewhere where you won't be interrupted by teachers etc. (Outside class) would be a better place to approach. Even if you're just walking out of the room, zone in. If she's with her gay friend even better, work on him as 'the friend' - getting in with friends is a bit closer.

virgin noob talking here, but try to be the gay guys friend without making it seem like you know he is gay or something. Once you're cool with him(dont let him get the impression ur coming onto himlol) then when u start hitting on the girl, she will look for approval to her nearby friend and he might help you out with it.
