Hey Kata that is a really good question. Online chatting or video chatting definitely improves ones social skills anxiety to a certain extent. When I started off I used online chatting to improve my social skills. But one mistake I made back then which many people make is they get hung up on it. The only way chatting online like the sites you mentioned will help you is if afterwards you go out into the real world and game. Think of it as following the stock market. You can follow the stocks all day but if you don't take action and buy/sell the stock you get no results. Exposing yourself to rejections does boost ones confidence but should not be your sole goal.
