Is there such a thing as smiling too much?

When I talk to girls I smile. I smile quite a bit. Ok, I smile a lot. What I've noticed is that at first this seems to be a good thing because the girls usually feel comfortable around me, but after a while I notice that they seem to lose interest. In particular, and call this a big hunch, I feel as though they think this guy is not "strong." I don't mean strong in a physical sense of course, but more so in masculine take charge kind of way. Admittedly, I am a bit shy when it comes to kino other than the usual touching an arm/shoulder sort of thing, so I feel maybe the combination of the two makes girls feel like this guy isn't really interested in more than just friends.

I wish someone could see me in action so they could critique but alas my words/description of the scenario is all I can convey to get some advice.

In short, is smiling a lot, and being "nice," along with some light kino a game killer?

Nothing wrong with smiling if it's genuine. Try to keep away from smiles that are like "I'm so happy to be alive and ignorant of anything bad that happens in life".

In the beginning smiling is good: you are having fun, you are social, you feel self-confident.

But further in the process, you have to make a 'emotional' bonding with a girl. You should create a tension. If you laugh here in this phase too much, you are actually removing the 'tension'. It also means that you cannot handle the tension and you feel awkward...that's why you laugh.....not good for the further gaming.

People who smile all the time come across as sedated or tapped in the head. Go watch The Fast and the Furious (2001), and keep track of when and why Vin Diesel's character smiles to get a better understanding of good smiling dynamics.

Smiling is a tension breaker which can be helpful in initiating a conversation and gaining rapport, BUT too much smiling is a sign of submissiveness.

Smiling can also break the sexual tension you're striving to create.

Thanks guys. As I think about it your comments regarding breaking the sexual tension are right on. I unconsciously find myself doing that because I'm nervous and I'm trying too hard to seem (and unnaturally so) upbeat. I will definitely make a conscious effort to create, and hell embrace, the sexual tension.

I can't believe I'm doing this but I'm adding Fast and the Furious to my queue. (not much of a fan of the series).

I've found that too much of a smile, fake smile, or nervous smile. You might as well be asking her "How about some dick?"

But friendly is good, friendly people smile. As long as it's natural.

I actually did this as well, but i didn't see him laugh once.. So I don't know why someone would give this movie as an example.. Maybe he was just a a fan of the series
