what's the code on this?

obviously i wouldn't do it if they broke up say a week before but still.

I say this because my mate is dating a girl i used to flirt with but i was in a relationship at the time. Now I'm not and if they break up she'd by my first choice.

I just wonder if it would become awkward between the three of us ,if it ever happened

Too much drama, everybody will want to chime in with their opinion on it, and it can drive you guys apart. It's just a better use of time and effort on a girl who doesn't have that kind of baggage. Rather than wait and see if they break up, go out and meet some ladies!

Agreed with everyone above, don't do it.

Pretty much that ^^^

My ex k-closed my mate 2 weeks after we broke up . Lets say that at one point ( yeah I admit im an idiot for letting my friends take over the situation) but I had around 10 guys chasing him round town at one point and the poor guy was hugging bouncers all night.

I called them off him and told them to let me handle the situation my way in which I just let him crap his pants for a few weeks , I amde my point. Then I eventually shook his hand and he bought me a pint . were cool now but we arent at that same level of friendship again.

Dont be the douche that gets chased around town by a group of lads be the douche that says its ok for a group of Lads to make sure you dont get made a mug of again

Wait, does that mean YES, never hook up with your friend's exes or NO, never hook up with your friend's exes. They both mean the same thing.

I answered "YES", you should never hook up with your friend's exes. As in, I agree it's a bad idea.

Gonna have to buck the trend here and say possibly. Btw thats not a solid yes either.

It's so situational.

Factors to think about for example are:

How your social circle works .. ie one were people partner swap alot and it's the 'norm'

Time - ie there is a difference between 5minutes after a 'break up chat' your banging her in the toilet without a condom in some kinda cant wait frenzy fuck (not that has happened lol) .... vs 2 years down the line, bumping into them and hitting off.

Distance... you move away to another city/state/what ever and bump into them there and hit it off.

What im getting at here I suppose is kinda echoing what the other guys are saying but from a different angle. However the way im saying it is - that by all means do so if you are in the position were you are disenfranchised or leaving your social circle. If not then simply dont.

There are plenty of chicks in the world. Stay away of the ones that cause major drama. If your friend isn't quite that much of a friend things change, but when it's someone close to you don't do it.
