I know it's a bit hasty of me to freak out just because of one instance, but I don't want it to happen again.

I opened a woman on the bus riding home from college, and I'm a complete newbie but it was going really well. In this 4 minutes bus ride, she gave me three giant IOI ranging from asking for my name to complimenting my hair.

I thought I was in the finish lane for getting my first number off cold approach ever, but when I asked for the number, this happened.


Worhol: *shake her hand* It was nice to meet you, my stop is coming up. You seem really interesting, would you be up for lunch sometime soon?
Polka: I'm sorry, I don't really do that. I don't really go out with people I don't know.
(I'm utterly thrown off by this, she's obviously attracted to me, then gives me that excuse even after I give her the best of my game?)
Worhol: What? What about me, I don't know you either, we'd hang out, and you might try to jump me in an alleyway
Polka: *laughs* Yeah, I'm sorry, I just don't do that. Please don't tell me I've discouraged you from being friendly to strangers
Worhol: Pretty much, I'm now never going to talk to another person again thanks to you
Polka: *laughs*, sorry, hopefully I'll see you around campus.


Even before that first line came out of my mouth, my brain was screaming "DON'T ASK HER OUT TO LUNCH, SHE'LL DENY YOU" but I had no real choice.

In a normal set, you can set an instant date or in an emergency, get her number. But in this case, being on a bus with limited time, there was no instant date opportunity. But I didn't want to generically ask for the number either, that would be worse, right? So I went for interest in a future meeting.

Can I get some advice on how I should have closed her instead? Usually I'd just say "oh, she wasn't interested, whatever" but she obviously was, my game was basic yet she was giving me the biggest IOIs I've ever received during my short time as a learner of PUA.

Oh, and just ask if you want the full FR, I didn't post the beginning because it wasn't relevant to my question.

Dude, she might just not have been as attracted to you as you thought she was. That's what I'm thinking. Either that or that was a huuge shit test you didn't pass. I vote for the former.

Wow, learning this game is going to be hard if you are right, and she wasn't attracted.

Now I'm doubting myself even more. Now I've learned how to get IOIs from women, but apparently that doesn't mean crap.

The bus was a challenge I've never tried it and huge props for going for it. Maybe it showed that you were rushing the question seeing as you knew you had a time limit, you could have gotten her number and maybe sorted out a later date from that.

As far as doubting yourself goes. Don't. You made an approach and it seems like you held the convo well. just see this as a learning experience and carry on as normal. Always take positives
