Ok, well.. my best friend is a bit of pathological liar or he just has some superiority complex or something..

He tells everyone he meets (even friends) about how he was such a popular guy in High School and about all these girls he talks to and even through College about how he was such a player and a Cassanova but in reality he spent most nights watching TV or the same movies over and over because he didn't want to do anything else and he has NEVER lived that life.. I've known him for 14 years. I keep quiet about it though because well.. anyone who likes to make themselves feel better by lying about their past, good for them.

Anyways.. he keeps talking about how he's so good and so convincing that he can get any girl he wants to do anything he wants.. so last night we went to the bar.

I wish I could reconstruct my face after last night, that was FUCKING AWFUL... Not only is he lame and a typical AFC sober, but what a fun Sloppy drunk he is -_-

He was walking up to girls getting right in there faces and going "HI!! you should meet my friend Corey, he's like the greatest guy in the world!" If they or I walked away (usually me after seeing such an awkward look on their face) he'd go "HOLD ON I can get her number for you!! just watch."

He approached a group of girls with me and said "Ok girls we think Corey should change his name to Everett because honestly, have you ever met or know a successful Corey?"

The night only got worse from there, a lot worse. I know he's my best friend of 14 years butmy god... I'm new to this shit, so a wingman helping me approach is good but I'd rather go solo. He's just not NEARLY as smooth as he thinks he is. The only number I did get last night, I made sure we had minimal contact and maximum distance from Mr. Cowboy Cassanova.

Anyone ever had a guy like this as a wingman? Someone who thinks they're "super smooth" but in reality they just come off as another creep trying to get with them or as a huge sloppy drunk?

If he's your best friend of 14 years and you're both men, just be straight with him? Not straight like insulting him but give him a logical explanation of what he's doing wrong, humbly.

I have found that explaining some guidelines about women works very good because most times they make sense. My friends never were casanovas or anything, just regular guys and I never was/am in a big player position but since I've told them some guidelines they realize it's logical and follow it and thus I have myself good wingmen, and I can be a good wingman myself.

Although I could understand that if he thinks he's such a casanova he could laugh at your tips or something, but in that case how about you say that he's stealing your thunder and you want him to keep low profile one night. Since he's a big playa he shouldn't have a prob with that, and maybe after the night he will be interested in your pua abilities and ask/accept some guidelines.

just my 50cents, hope its useful :)
