This boggles me, when I'm walking randomly on the streets and I catch a girl giving me that mean look. Sometimes its a elongated stare of laziness and indifference, sometimes they're dead locked at me and continue to do so even after I catch them.

Quite frankly, it pisses me off.

You can't assume anything by that. Try having a smile and you'll see. At my job (work in a hospital), I always had to smile and say hi so when I'm walking on streets, I always have a little smile. Not a big one that shows my teeth. To be honnest, almost everyone that will keep an eye contact with me for a few seconds (Man, woman) will smile back. You can't be mad at someone smiling at you.

i have possible insight into this phenomenon.

when i got out of my really bad long-term relationship (over ten years of afc'ness),

i was a pretty bitter dude.

although i didn't let that show,

however,

what i did let show was a total sense of disinterest.

i've been noticing more-and-more just how perceptive women are to body language and non-verbal communication. i mean, they have radar for this shit.

women DO NOT LIKE to go unnoticed.

anyways, back to my story...

after the bad relationship, i didn't even want to look at women, i knew why, but they didn't know why. however, i used to get a lot of those horrible looks...

and finally i realized, it was because my non-verbal communication was totally and completely closed off to them. you and i (as men) don't see a problem with this...

but to a woman, when you close off your non-verbal communication, it is the same as some guy walking past us and saying "hey, fuck you, i really don't care".

seem crazy?

well...it is...but it is also true.

if you are trying to act "nonchalant" around women, you need to stop that. women WANT to be noticed. ALWAYS.

you may be sending body language that you think says "i am cool, calm, unaffected".

but that body language may be being perceived as "i don't really like women".

again, i know it's crazy.

but once i realized that i was sending nonverbal cues, i started acknowledging every woman i encountered (with my thoughts), things like:

- oh hey, she's cute
- or, nice skirt there, sexy

whatever.

immediately, they started smiling and saying:

- HI!
- or, omigosh, it's so hot out...isn't it?

women speak in unspoken language.

learn it.
use it.

THEY ALL want to be noticed.

That makes a lot of sense Mack. I like to think that when a women gives you negative attention, it's not always a bad thing. But the pessimistic part of me thinks they're just being uptight bitches for no reason.
