Both this girl and I are 17. I ran into her at the mall yesterday, she hugged me, chatted for literally 30 seconds and we both took off (we were each shopping with parents. I hadn't seen her in 5 months, and while she's flirted a little before at school, she's been in relationships.
Later I get a text from her saying hi, and that she got my number from one of my friends. I text said friend, and he says she asked for my number because she wanted to "hang out". So I ask her if she wants to get together sometime, and she tells me sure.
I see she is in a relationship on FB which looks serious, so I assume she just wants to get together as friends, and I ask if she wants to go to the movies. I also ask if she wants each of us to bring friends, and she says sure to both
Basically, I'm trying to figure out what's going on in her head? Can anyone shed some light on this?

DO NOT ASSUME.

She's in a relationship? Maybe.

Should you care? Absolutely not.

Stop thinking as if you're friends, because if you do she'll go five steps ahead and crown you as "friend zone" king. Respect the thing in between your legs.

Now, go talk to her and do everything with her irrespective of the fact she is committed or not.

If she went to such a distance just to "hang out" with you, there is a lot more on her mind than just two people sitting and talking.
