I met this girl at a local hip hop dive a couple of weeks ago. Had a great conversation with her and a follow-up date the next day and a second on saturday. Saturday ended with a bit of kino and a couple of kisses.

I told her that we were getting together tonight but she has opted out via text stating that she cannot go out tonight and for me to "have fun".

How would you respond to this and what would be your next step. She is a bit older than what I am used to 36. I usually date 24-28 and am 40 - yep 40 no one can ever tell though, they usually guess 28. That said, I am betting she is actually busy and simply responded: "no worries " and left it at that.

Should I send any messages this evening or should I roll and see if she re-initiates?

Don't text her back tonight, as far as she knows you are going out somewhere to have fun. You're busy, you can't text her.
I would have replied to the I can't go text with, ok, I'll make sure to take tons of pictures so next time we hang out I can show you how much fun you missed. It implies you are going to see her again, and it shows that her flaking didn't really bother you.

Maybe tomorrow send her the i met your twin last night text, make her feel bad that she didn't go and that you were out having fun with another girl.
