I've decided to get back in the game after dating a girl for a year. I analyzed all my lays and realized none of them have come from a random approach - all were met through my social circle. Nonetheless my game is decent and my friends call me a player - no doubt I would be a hell of a lot better if I approached more.

I've decided I won't get the quality of girl (10) I want unless I get out there and start approaching like crazy - this is why I broke up with my last date. It's not a hump I've been able to get over in the past, I've only ever approached randomly. The problem is I like to open direct, but there aren't a lot of women I can do so congruently. Frankly I'm not interested in most.

The thing I like about direct openers is they work for any attractive girl in any situation. What I need is a congruent, simple, general opener for a larger demographic. I don't find asking strangers opinions congruent, nor directly opening girls that aren't super attractive.

Anyone have any ideas or should I just throw congruency out the window?

Well I'm no expert on this, but I've always been a fan of direct game over indirect. It's simple, straight to the point.
"Hi, I thought you were cute, I just had to some over here and meet you."
If you can pull that off, it's golden.

Yeah, me too. The trouble is I cant find half a dozen truly attractive girls in an average day - I want something as universal but for women that dont knock my socks off so to speak - just so I can congruently sarge them for practice.

How about this, instead of putting so much weight on the "opener" just think of it as a simlpe step so you can transition into an interesting conversation. This conversation will involve more important techniques eq flirting, teasing, banter etc etc

In terms of the opener anything will worked if delivered right, situational ones are always safe as they won't look too rehearsed. I can't remember who but a PUA on here mentioned he asked a girl what she was listening to her on her ipod.. after this make simple conversation based on that

Indirect openers are lower in confidence. Direct openers are high in Confidence. Women love confindence. Strangers that approach women, obviously only have one intention. If you try to hide that intention, it shows low confidence. Come in strong and with confidence. Direct is probably better.

couldnt agree more lolaskate i've been telling my students this for ages, start on indirect if you want something canned to build the confidence then move onto direct! there's a time and place for both but a confident direct open is what a real man does
