So prom night is about 3 days away. My girlfriend dumped me a few days ago, so I'm not going with anyone. I didn't want to ask a girl to prom because I wanted to practice my game skills there.
I'm pretty good at day game.
I've never done night game. Is this counted as night game?

Can you help me with this situation? It's fictional, but I'd like to know what do do if this happens.
(I'm going to do what I usually do during day game. I have no idea if it's the right thing to do here, so any advice with help a lot.)

Situation:
There are 4 girls and 1 guy in a little group by their own little table. The guy is the boyfriend of one of those girls, so there are 3 single girls in the group. I'm really digging this one girl there. I walk over there.
Me: Hey, you're date over there is calling for you.
Her: Date?
Me: Yeah, the guy you're with. Or your girl if you roll that way. (Wink)
Her: I don't have a date. I'm here with friends.
Me: Oh well then, let's dance.

^Do you guys think this would be a good approach? My other approach is to go direct.
Also, how do I isolate her from her friends?

Ok, this is the next question. After I get a girl to agree to dance with me, how should I dance? I mean, I know how to slow dance, but there will be songs where it's like hip hop or something. I used to go to homecomings alone, so I'd just flail my limps in the air. I wanna know how I should dance with her.

I would be very social. Just talk to everyone. Once people starting seeing that, they know your not running game trying to pick up on women. They will see your just being social. Your approach are gonna a lot smoother.

When girls start giving you IOI, then it will be a good idea to ask them to dance.
