I recently went after a bartender two days ago. The key is to be the exception! Not the rule. Hot girls who waitress or bartend etc are used to getting hit on by AFC's so you are best to go with the cocky/funny and/or indirect approach.

I said all of maybe 20 words to this HB8 the other night and she had gotten my drinks twice and I asked if I knew her (i obviously didnt)

Later on when they were closing the function room I approached her at the bar and asked

"Do you know where Copa (a bar) is?"
She said "No"

I said "Aw I need to meet my mates there, are you sure you dont know?"

She said "No sorry"
Then I replied "Actually.. I really don't care where it is, I just thought you were cute so I had to talk to you."

She laughed and gave me a big smile so I asked her "So can I possibly get your number"

She got a pen and wrote it on the back of a receipt.

We're going on a date on thursday.
