I received a text from an HB8 I met last week. It was the first text conversation we had, but I think she takes things too seriously.

HB: Hey!

Me: Oh gosh not you! jk whats up?

HB: Never mind then. I was gonna invite you to work out with me but I guess not.

Me: Whats the matter can't take a joke. Lol. I can't go anyways. I'm going to a rave later. Maybe you can work out with me next week. I need to work out my butt, and you could use a little help in that area.


Thats it. Im pretty sure she is taking the joke too seriously, seeing as I've used the "Oh gosh not you!" line on other HB's. Its worked great before, but she just gave back a bitchy response. She didn't even reply to the other text.

I can tell she is trying to make herself seem like the PRIZE, by trying to make me feel bad. What should I do in situations like these?

you are dealing with a girl who desperately wants to have game but who doesn't have any.

it's a deadly combination that is sure to lead to many awkward moments and her potentially calling you an abuser for making wisecracks, lol.

be careful. a sense of humor is a terrible thing to waste!

No..no..and NO! It was uneccesary to say "Oh gosh not you! jk whats up?" And Mack, it's not that the girl is trying to game him. She openly said, "Hey!" to him from the start but after she read his response she probably thought, "This guy isn't a real man, just a player." As you can see, HE is the one that changed the outcome so we can't assume that the girl was trying to game him.

Even if you joked, joking like that gives away the fact that you're trying to make up for an insecurity, she can't take you for real.

Now to go from what you've already done, I would stop dicking around and ask her, "I'll be there, what time?" If she rejects after that, then say, "I just thought you'd be fun to work out with." Then it's all on HER! See how it works now? No need to complicate shit, keep it simple.

I've dealt with women like these in the past. Trying to lead men with little to no game, exposing them self, and their intentions in the process. Her intentions are obvious as her response to you was a little over emotional to such a harmless, playful text message. She obviously wants to stir up some emotions in you, and possibly make you feel bad and retract your statement.

Don't apologize, don't text her again, and don't fall into her trap. If I was you I would stop texting her altogether and forget about her.

personally i agree with Lucky Luciano. Girls that take jokes too serious are a waste of time. sometimes they do succeed in pissing me off by saying stuff like that even tho i was kidding. there have been cases where i just stop texting a girl... and what happens next? they will text me a few days later like nothing happened and they seem in a way better mood. but if the same thing happens again and cant take a simple joke... its the end lol

I hate that your reply contained 'jk', and continued into your next message. The butt comment is ballsy, but if she's always like that then fuck whether she gets offended.

Amuse yourself with shameless ignorance of her surgically attached head-colon, or switch into super direct mode and cut out the next few months of failed wit.

It was meant to show that I wasn't being serious. Perhaps smiley's would have been a better idea? Are you saying that I should show signs that I AM being serious.

I hate when I have to use smileys in texts. GOD. "I'm just putting this here because I know you're too stupid to understand otherwise".

I would rather her be questioning whether I was serious than tell her she had a fat bum! The former won't get me kicked in the nuts. If you're going to play it off as a joke then don't stick on it. Once and then change the subject or carry on as though she accepted it.

I think a begrudging smiley face or a '!!!!!!' instead of jk and then the middle third of your second message would suffice. It might leave some lingering doubts, but if she brings it back up then you have already won.
