How to go about studying a book ?

Hello

So I just printed out the ebook "Magic Bullets" it is about 200 pages long.

I want to know how I would go about studying it and remembering all the stuff thats written in it ?

I mean to what point would i go out in to the field and try out the stuff as a complete beginner ?

If you're really looking to "study" it then take notes and study like you would have any of your school text books. Though, I would imagine just reading through once and then testing stuff in the field would suffice.
