Can somebody explain the routine: "I can't even talk with you now"?

I tried it on some girls and some of them was like: "Why? Why can't you talk with me?", and they were really confused. What should I answer them? I feel I don't really understand this by myself.

(I've used it like this: "WHAT? you are XXX?! my first girlfriend was XXX, I can't even talk with you now")

Really gotta see you approach to figure it out.

But you might have used it too early, maybe bad delivery. IS hard to tell.
