I was in American Eagle the other day shopping for some clothes, when I began talking to this really cute employee HB7.5. At one point I asked her if I could pull off this one shirt.

ME: Hey do you think this shirt could work on me
HB: Yea but blue is way better on you (I was wearing a blue shirt)
ME: I know but everything I own is blues I am trying to mix things up
HB: Well the shirt will work then, you have the smile for it.

THen she walked away to find y size jean in the back but she looked back and gave me a huge smile. Then later when I was changing she asked how the jeans fit to which I said beautifully!.

By the time I got to the register she was ringing me up she kept smiling at me and touching her hair. Just SPAM major IOIs left and right. I really wanted to get her number but I had no idea how to transition from paying for my clothes to getting her number. So, I ask what should I have done?

With this one, you could have played it a bit more cool and direct if you ask me. Tell her you have some friends who need clothing advice, give her nr and when you guys have a party she could help 'm out a bit lol.

Of course be sure to tell that in a joking way.
