By "let her" I mean, when we were paying for the movie, I said "Are you getting this or dinner"? And she said "i'll get this".
The guy behind the counter laughed his head off and congratulated me. She told him "see how mean he is to me". (4 hours later she was saying something in bed I won't repeat here!)
Anyway, I thought that was interesting, so I told a girl at work about it. (She's an older woman that I talk to sometimes, I'd previously asked her about good dating locations in town and was telling her I'd found one.) I just mentioned that I made a girl pay for a movie and she totally flipped the fuck out! Not only her, but even a couple other people nearby went WTF and looked at me. I started to talk about not being a nice guy all the time, and how buying women things is for back in the medieval times when there were dragons flying around, but I stopped myself when I saw how they were looking at me. Then they started to talk to me about how I should be a gentlemen, and I let the issue drop ASAP.
(So I'm not going to talk about dating at work anymore!)
Is this a normal reaction? I thought people shared the cost of dating all the time!
Do you guys have more subtle ways of asking a girl to split the bill? _________________ "I'd tell her to go shove her face in the pig pen, and go out and find another one who'll kiss you without askin for the earth. You're bound to find one. You can hardly throw half a brick back in the lands you come from without hittin one."
