My life took a pathetically wrong turn in 7 grade. Thats when I first started to lie to the other kids in my class about what I would do after school. It wass meant as a DHV. It was a dumb and childish thing to do. Now I was afraid to hang out with them because they might find out I was a liar. So I never hung out with anybody after school. I did this all the way to freshman year in high school.
I quit lying but I still avoided social gatherings. My problem had morphed from "What if they find out im lying?", to "What if they find out I have no friends?" I never asked for a social invite cause I thought it would give my friendless status away. Because of my lack of balls I went through high school practically friendless. I literally let the problem grow into years where every day it became harder to ask someone to hang out with.
I'm 20 now 3 years out of high school and 1 nerd friend. Compeleting the newb mission gave me the courage to try and befriend old friends. So I just joined facebook and I see most of my old high school familiars are still around. I know I need to try and message them show them i want to hang out but how?
What can I possibly say to bridge the gap of almost 10 years of social awkwardness? Do any of you guys know of any high school nobody who rentered your group of friends and became a somebody? If so what did they do?
