Hello all,

A little help. I'm traveling Central America and got a temporary place to stay for a couple days. The upstairs neighbor girl was in the stairwell when I was looking at it and she was very helpful, we had a bit of a connection. I ended up taking the place and left a note on her door saying thanks and to come down later for a drink and to tell me about the area.

She came down, said she only had a few minutes, but ended up hanging out for several hours, which went great. It was very flirty, had sexual imagery, no awkward pauses or nothing. She eventually slowly left with a 'very nice to meet you' and said her and friends were going up to a bar the next night and that I should come, told her definitely, but we never really made any formal arrangement.

The next day, I assumed she would knock on the door, but she never did. I walked up to the bar and didn't see her, so came back and figured the note thing worked well the first time and did it again saying I must have missed her or something and gave her my email address. I then never heard anything the day after (and she knows I'm only here for a few days before going to a new place, same area), no knock, no email.

I realize its probably a blow-off at this point, but it doesn't make sense given how well our first interaction went. We were definitely into each other. Is it possible that a string of coincidences happened and perhaps she's thinking that I'm blowing HER off? Maybe I didn't hear the knock while in the shower, maybe I missed seeing them at the bar (was quite busy), and the wind here can be super-strong, so maybe the note blew off the door.

Anyway, long story I guess, but now I'm leaving tomorrow without anyway of getting back in touch with her later and am not sure what to do. If I knew for sure she was blowing me off, then I'd just let it go and move on, which is exactly what I'd normally do, but I don't mind fighting a little for it (I'm more a romantic than player).

So, what should I do??? Leave one more note, taped really well? Knock on her door early evening and ask what happened? Leave it alone?

Sorry for the long story, any help would be most appreciated!!!

Philip

you left her your email address, she has a way of contacting you if she wants. Don't worry about leaving. If it's all a coincidence, with your note, she would get that you didn't blow her off and contact you. If it wasn't, well you won't hear from her. Just move on, and you will see...

Thanks for your reply bbardot. That's the way I'm kinda leaning, but can't get it out of my head that maybe she didn't get the note. The winds here really get super-strong, and it was just a piece of tape on a rough wood door.

Ergh, normally I'd just let it go, but I'm going to be here for awhile, and so is she (for months). That's hard to find when traveling as most English speaking folks are just passing through.

I'm thinking maybe a knock tonight might be worth a shot. Might be a little uncomfortable if she is blowing me off, but that's probably a small price to pay...lol.

she got the note, didn't go at the bar. Now if you want to insist and make her unconfortable, it's up to you. She probably have other things going on or she was just trying to be superficially friendly in a first place... Just let it go, chances are she is not the love of your life :) especially that she flaked on you, in general that's not a good sign.
You seem to me pretty desperate to meet someone, and it prevent you to see thing irrationaly. I don't think that the bar, the fact she didn't knock was a coincidence and that the note just happened to be blown by the wind.
Just relax, it wasn't it just yet, but i'm sure what you want will come around
Now you could just go knock and i have the feeling you will, but it's a big risk of being insistant which will force her to act nice with you and it's a waste of time for both of you.
in my opinion you have a better chance to score her if you stop appearing so desperate for her. Just let her come, she might get back to you later. Just be friendly if you run into her but not harrassing her at her door. Leaving a note once was funny but twice and come and knock at her door when ignored is just creepy...

You are probably right man, thanks so much.

I probably am a little desperate at the moment, though generally not my style. Recently separated so been looking forward to romance again for a very long time (years).

I don't have any delusions of love of my life, don't even want it right now, variety is the spice of my life, but am more interested in short-term girlfriend type deals. Just seemed like it might have worked out well, but no doubt this won't be my only opportunity for that.

Thanks so much for talking me off the cliff, I think you are probably right. Besides, if all those things were just coincidence, then it wasn't meant to be anyway right?

Best of luck to you, wish me luck!

Philip
