I am really working on moving beyond AFC mentality. And part of that is to not be a jealous douche when a girl I am with flirts a little bit with somebody else...

I am curious on people's points-of-view on this.

How do you guys handle it when your girl flirts?

When is flirting ok and when is it not ok?

When does it cross the line?

When would you potentially "put your foot down" on this subject?

Where is the difference between being "cool" about it, and being "stupid" in allowing it?

I always take the same position - upper hand as it is.
"I'm the one going home with her - not these guys!"

Simple - if you tho see a guy getting to clingy - either your girl will reject him or just go to her and put your arm around her with a smile.

Ann Landers herself always maintained that untill there was an engagement with a ring and a date (ie "invested committment" )that anything was fair game.

When you have the right to "put your foot down" is when you have a tangible investment in the relationship and her outside flirtations have the potential to damage the relationship.

In otherwords if you have shelled out several thousand dollars on an engagement ring and have sent out the invitations and put down deposits on all the wedding venues, then it is time to start protecting your investments.

Up untill that time it is just you wanting a chick but you have no actual claim over her. (nor she over you)

When you want a chick all to yourself and you aren't willing to let her have any other outside sexuality, then it is time to discuss marriage and either she will go for it or she won't.

Up untill that time it is just possessiveness and controlling behaviour and she has the right to ditch your ass for it just as you have the right to ditch her ass for being clingy.
