Trouble I have with speed dating is that 1-2-1 conversation lasts 4 minutes.

I feel cube, ring, strawberry tests, etc are far too long. Sticky eyes can be rather off-putting don't you think.

What is the quickest way to gain attraction that will leaving the girl wanting to see me again and to know more?

i've been a few times. Ask questions that will stand out. 'Where shall we go on our honeymoon (with a cheeky smile)?' 'Tell me something that you haven't told any of the other guys tonight' Laugh at some of the other girls 'There are definitely a couple of stalkers in here tonight!' Talk about stalkers - 'Takes a lot of skill actually you have to be discreet, calculating, proactive - do you think you would make a good stalker?!' keep it light hearted.

Scout the room at the start of the event - when you get to the girl that you think could be the best, ask her to meet you at the end of the last date - reserve her! And get her number that night - don't rely on the matching system.

also when you get a girl you don't like, make up a load of BS - tell her you're in the Guinness book of records or something - this will keep you creative and keep the dull dates interesting. Then you can also tell the hot girls that you played these games with the boring ones - they'll love it.

The night went very well..... until I met my ex which was very interesting. She sent me a text message the weekend before the speed dating event saying that she met a guy and won't be seeing me again. It turned out that she didn't meet any guy but was her way of calling things off. She didn't bank on me quickly enrolling on the speed dating event that took place 80 miles away.

48hrs later, the matching system returned one match and it was my ex...! I'm thinking that she must be feeling guilty and wanted to remain friend. I'll not be contacting her, but the ball is in her court.
