...at least I think so.

I mean...a line coming from a Richard Simmons is not going to play out the same way coming from a George Clooney, and vice versa.

I was on YouTube the other day and was watching some guys filming their own pickups, and of course I heard many of the often regurgitated lines and I noticed that what you say is completely irrelevant as long as what you're saying fits your personality.

Like I heard this guy go up to a group of women and say "Hey I need a female opinion on something...do you think it's okay for guys to go tanning?", and it reeked of "I want to Fuck You"'ness, she knew it and he knew it.

And then you see other guys who can say something completely random and insane and the results would be 180 degrees different, something like "Today I read the New York Times and it said it was going to rain, I hate rain"

It might sound stupid, but this ice breaker would work for some. I think one thing these "manuals" should do is preface every routine with a question to the reader, asking them if they believe a routine would fit into their personality.
