Hi, so generally I'm quite a calm and laidback type of guy. With female friends I have conversations that flow easily. My problem is when speaking to new attractive girls, I can sometimes come across as too laidback, which maybe perceived as shy or boring, and struggle to keep the conversation flowing.

What are some good questions/topics/things to say that help keep a conversation interesting & flowing?

Tell stories about you past. How did you get your job? What things happened to you when you were younger? Was your uncle gentle when he... jk lol. Seriously girls appreciate stuff like that and with a little luck it will get into a flow. Don't forget you can be interesting with body language as well. I think it was on an episode of The Pickup Artist where mystery was talking about being a " just a touchy guy" that kind of openness can be interesting to women. kind of a cool paradox frame to play "quiet and reserved in speech but loud with body language" might keep interest up. I don't know I'll have to try it.

I suffer from the same problem. Where I can't play it cool because it backfires and I come off as detatched and boring. You really have to put the effort in to talk more. There's no easy way around it.

Try the strategy of delving deeper. Like if someone tells you where they work, ask how they like it, or why they got into that field. Then when they answer that, ask another question based on the information they just told you. Most people love to talk about themselves.

cool, thanks for the responses.

I was thinking questions that get the girl to give their opinion will also help the conversation. Ideally i'd prefer not to do alot of the talking, which would hopefully build up their interest in me. However it's a thin line between being mysterious and just boring.

Another question I am thinking of using is what kind of characteristics do you look for in a person. This could get the girl thinking.

The only thing I would watch out for is what Mystery repeated in MM a few times. not an exact quote but the meaning was "If you let a girl lead the conversation and the girl makes it boring she will still just blame you and think of you as a boring guy" practice telling stories and jokes on your friends and family and see which ones get good responses.
