Routines are just ways to stop awkward silences from happening, and ingrain a certain way of dealing with women into you (being playful, flirty, not taking their shit, etc.) You don't HAVE to use them AT ALL. I don't.

No, routines are completely unnecessary. However a lot of people find it much easier to start with routines to build confidence and analyze PU for themselves.

The ide is to start with routines you have learned, then make routines that suit you, then have routines for emergencies and before you know it you are running complete natural game.
