This was in front of the group and completely dem0ralized the guy. It occurred to me that I would probably struggle in that situation too, so I'm just curious, how do you respond to someone who just gets very hostile?

Would it be best to walk away? What if you're with, say, 3 people and there's 7 of them, you'd look like a fool to walk away would you? And if you insult her back, wouldn't it just turn into an argument?
