I'm recently out of an 8 month LTR and anyone who's ever had a girlfriend knows you get a lot more attention from other women while your taken. An then once the LTR is over you can feel a complete shift in the way women look at you an respond to you

Question:

What exactly is/causes this?

I know part of the reason is because you don't care as much when you have someone

How would someone go about achieving this state while remaining single?

@Fuze-You're 100% right about that.

The psyclogical reason for that is:

It's called the "empty-restaurant effect".

Let's say you have 2 restaurants,1 has many customers,the other has no customers.

You're very hungry,so logics would tell you to buy from the empty restaurant-less waiting time.

But you may say to yourself,"Why isnt anyone buying food from restaurant #2,perhaps the food is bad,bad reputation"?

So although you're hungry,you will most likely still get on the long line of restaurant #1 because if everyone's buying its food,it must be good.

The correlation with dating?

You have 2 men:1 surrounded by girls,the other alone.

Logics would say to a girl,wisest choice is to pursue the guy who's alone.

But a girl will ask herself,"Why is he alone?

He could be a stalker,weirdo,rapist,loner,bad lover,etc.

The guy surrounded by girls is deemed "SAFE".

If other women is hanging with him,or if a girl would actually date him,that means he's qualified in love,bed,etc.

So that's the psycology behind it.

Ppl want what others have.

If you'r1 -ingle,then something must be wrong with you(lol)!

That's how women look at it,unless you can reframe this demeanor.

But when I was single(Im in a 2 -year LTR),I discovered the above psycology from reading pick-up articles on women psycology,so I would tell women that Im taken.

Eventhough I was single,I always told girl Im gaming that I had a gf.

My online profiles say "in a relationship".

So that's how you go about it as a single guy,tell girls that you have a gf.

If you're against white lies,then at least tell her you're thinking of getting serious with someone.

You look at other girls with less or no interest, you have more self confidence, and women are wondering why you are not attract to her.
If you says that you are seeing few ppl, you might blow yourself up. She might put the tag player on your face, isn't it ?
