Girls want to pick up guys just as much as we want to pick up them.
So, in a perfectly rational world, girls would also make moves on guys and no-one would ever be nervous. Also girls today always seem so damn cold hearted, which causes guys to be extra nervous.
In a rational world, we wouldn't be told at a young age to never talk to strangers or taught the opposite of reality is what is true.

Why do we all fuck eachother up and wonder why we are shy/nervouse/cold?

Ultimately it is the media and religion that caused our screwed up society.
