'Dry' one/two word answers

If im talking to a girl and even if i know she is interested, whenever she gives me a one/two word answer twice in a row it really puts me off. I know I should try make more conversation and ask more questions but then I feel like im trying a bit too hard. has anyone got any suggestions for a smooth way to get the conversation going without it seeming like your doing all the effort

If she asks you a question, answer with one word and then add this one thing to it. Example: "Yes. (I think 1 word answers wouldn't bother this girl)" and then watch her begin to unfold. Once she gets the idea that she gives you one word answers, you can then be cocky and funny. Example: Oh haha, it's because I give you one word answers all the time. You: Yes haha, I thought you had a limited vocabulary

hmmm yea thats a quite a good one, i think ill try that out with a different girl that i dont care about see if it works then i will try it on this girl im talking to :p

Not all girls are the same and not all girls like you the same way so if you try it on a different girl, it might not be valid
