this is one of the reasons why i never comment on a girls appearance, whether it be positive or negative, I try to avoid telling her anything. The only time i would give her a compliment is when i noticed that she put alot of effort to look good to meet me, and then i keep it short and sweet.
If you feel like you did too much damage with your comment to the point where she wont talk to you, i say leave her behind and move on, you blew it. DONT take back what you said or apologize, you are unreserved and uninvested. That means you dont care about what people think about you or what you say, and that you are willing to walk away from ANY woman without second thought. Just take this as a lesson in why you should be honest with whatever you say.
Hi dudes.
Ok, first thing: the first part, spirit, i think is bullshit. Never commenting on the looks of a girl/woman? Then in the second part you say: you should be honest with whatever you say (i totally agree with that). Well then, if she looks nice, then at least tell her she looks nice (but not only when you see she has gone through hell to look like that) ! I give comments on looks, although i must admit that i will never directly say: "you are plain ugly" and mean it. I do say: i think you would look better if your hair was longer or you overdid your make up, its ugly, or omg, that dress does not fit you at all. Its just plain honesty. when i make a positive comment, they know i really mean it as well. If they cant handle honesty, they can go fuck themselves or grow up. And that is not only towards women btw.
If you say it as a joke, it must be quite obvious that it is a joke. If she cant handle the joke, apologize. say that you did not mean to hurt her, and that it was meant as a joke. Every once and a while, you will get a person who cant put your comment aside and remains angry. In such case, leave her be.
Dont be an asshole and not apologize. But apologize for the fact that your comment made her uneasy or that she is hurt. Not for being honest. As you should care what people think, you need feelings and empathy, but what they think should not affect what you do. Small difference but important IMO.
