Guys, share your experties on effectively listening to a woman. Here are my 2 cents:

-Keep changing your look from time to time. From rational to comic to surprised.. Depending on the situation & subject.

- Interrupt sometimes to ask your own questions, shows that you have a genuine AND deep interest in what she's talking about.

1) prolonged eye contact
2) move head slightly when something in the story changes.
3) connect to the story. if she says her dog just died, you could say you used to have a dog too.
4) mhmmm, yeah?, haha, no way, really, bulll shit!, thats rediculous, short chuckles, are you serious
