Now in person, usually a simple thanks would be appropriate, but in an online setting (facebook for example), what could i say to come off more bubbly and warm than 'thanks'? My current situation is that I want to reward these girls for reaching out to compliment a photo of me, thus establishing a closer relationship, however i do not want to come off as enjoying their compliments or insecure.

Usually, if a chick comments positively on me IRL, I just ignore it in the conversation and progress the convo with her. In my opinion a chicks say most of their things for them and not you (it's kind of like thinking out loud).
Just my 2 cents.
