| I know this is the typical AFC thread. Up until now, I always thought the whole concept of oneitis was ridiculous. I figured it was easy to just go from girl to girl and forget about them (hell, I've done it plenty of times) so I never really read the threads with much thought or sympathy. If you've never felt like this and you're just going to say "don't worry about it, there's tons of other girls out there. Go out, have fun and you'll forget about it!", then just hold your tongue, although I appreciate the thought.
I never had problems getting girls, and I had girlfriends from time to time for very short periods. Most of my life, I was single and partying it up hard. However, this past year I've been dating someone (easily an HB9). This was my first REAL relationship so I didn't really know what to expect. Ya, I had feelings for her and I'd get jealous, but I still wanted to party it up and see what's on the other side of the fence. I decided to break up with her to pursue my own interests and enjoyment. At first it seemed like a great move. I was having so much fun and doing the things I used to do.
After a few weeks, the novelty of being single wore off to me. I continued to see my ex, we'd have sex, have great times then go our own ways. She wanted me back, and I wanted her back but something was holding me back and I honestly don't know what it was. I was just worried about my image and what my boys would think of me if I went back to her. Stupid, I know, but that's the truth.
Now, I find out she has a new boyfriend. It wasn't until now that I realized just how much I actually care for her. It just HIT me, I've never felt like that before. I was distraught. I was a complete ass to her the whole relationship so I can't be mad at her. I hate myself for how I handled this situation. I wished her the best of luck with her new man, and disabled all contact cause I know that would just make things worse.
I know this feeling isn't gonna go away any time soon. I've come to the realization that I won't have her again, so I'm not hopelessly asking for advice how to get her back. I just need some advice as to how to cope with this (I haven't been the best friend or boyfriend or family member in my life so not many people really care how I feel, so I know you guys will listen and I do appreciate that). I don't wanna party, I'm always with my friends but I just wanna be alone. Any advice is really appreciated, guys.
