Love the advice.

I have been practicing, but one general problem I always finds. In this society where most males are "yes dear" kind of fellows, both men and women will see these behaviors as... not right and inappropriate.

Today's norm has women on a pedestal, and that's the way it just seems to be.

I am certain that some things some of us may be doing can be pushing the weird and irrational when doing this stuff, and I guess that's the risk we take while we practice.

But I finds, this all comes down on our reputations, and once we are classed as "not normal, and a bit weird" our entire game can go to hell, especially if we live in a small community like I am forced to right now.

I am planning on moving back to the city very soon, but I can see how this can be a problem.

I finds if we violate the norm too much while practicing PUA, we soon become outcasts among the town and are forced to practice on the internet or move away.

Because in reality, you can't create mystery if everybody knows you and how many mistakes you've already made.

Am I doomed in this small town? I dunno. :p But moving sounds like a better option than continuing to practice here.

Any thoughts?

Yeh have to agree with everything you said there. Im from a small town, maybe 2000 people. So everyone kinda has a connection to everyone. You can be guaranteed that you share some mutual friend with every single person in the mall, or every single person walking down the main street.

Is all in your head. I sarge my local spot every weekend and run into regular all the time. They fucking know I am there to meet girls. Regulars (non pick up guys) come up to me when I am talking to girls and DHV the crap out of me.

Point is, if your mindset is talking to girls is wrong, then your gonna communicate that in subtle ways. My mindset right now is, "these girls are down to fuck tonight" When I open them. Guess what? Friday night, SNL. Saturday night, Another SNL.

Oh by the way, I ain't any good when it comes to pick up. I am still learning from guys that are better then me.

I'll keep that in mind.

Does our reputations even matter, than? You say it doesn't. But, surely, if you're just not well liked in the community, my assumption is you simply must move on. Just the same you have to move on when a woman don't like you.

This particular area still confuses me, because I actually enjoy the game and practicing what it takes, but mistakes and dating failures are being talked about.

The only obvious advice, which is universal advice is don't make mistakes in the first place.

Do reputations matter? Not really. You can change your reputation. It won't be easy to do in a small town, but it is possible.

Thats pretty dumb advice. No one can be perfect. Its far better to let the mistakes happen so you can learn from them and get better.

I'm glad to hear that actually. But believing in it is quite difficult! I believe it is a common Italian maphia belief that true power comes from your ability to cover your ass and not make these stupid mistakes in the first place, because they have strong value in how reputation matters and how fragile it is (especially when it can mean your life). But if I flip the coin and look at it from another perspective, most fellers I know who live by those rules are silent, and do seem like afc's when they think they are all the Godfather.

You see, I'd love to hear more from your beliefs and experience.

Dropping your attitude/view point on the reputation thing will help a lot. Your reputation is as fragile as you make it out to be. The thing is if you worry about making mistakes and trying to avoid making them you are never going to learn anything in life. No one is perfect the sooner you realize this the better. Its okay to make mistakes, how you go about them after you make them is what matters more. You can either learn from them or don't. I know I have made load of mistakes when it comes to girls. But the thing is I am where am I today because I learned from them.

When I got to high school I got the rep for getting into fights and being a trouble maker. I even had the rap sheet to back it even. But I really didn't want that rep anymore and set out to change it as I was over the fighting. By the 10th grade I had pretty much removed that reputation and in away my past. I went from being known as a trouble maker to a geek basically in a years time. I did this by changing my behavior and treating people/kids differently.

I am also in a bad situation involving this. Very bad rep at school. Honestly; who gives a flying fuck. I can walk out of school; go to the mall and meet random people i'll never see there again.

And reputation which is acquired I believe only stays in the same place you achieved it in (e.g. He's a real party animal! and in class it could be Loner/geek/nerd)
