I never really tried picking up girls anywhere and I'm totally new to this, so bear with me.

I was at a casual party last night, and I think I know where I messed up, but I want to be sure. I met a girl, we talked a little, and she called me a cutie, told me how the other guys are all about themselves but not me. Seemed like she was full of sh*t, but whatever. I figured I'd give it a shot and ask her if she wanted to meet up sometime. She said sure, and asked me for my number. After she punched it in, I asked her to text or call me right, so that I have her number. She said no, she'll call me from a different phone. Idiot me said 'ok' and she left. It's pretty obvious that the 'different phone' crap was just so that I don't get her number. (who does that anyway?) Once again, my brain wasn't trained for this so I only realized afterward that I got screwed.

I think what I should've done in this situation is instead of giving her my number, tell her to quit screwing around because she will never call me....or something like that? I'm not entirely sure, and I wanted your guys' input on this. Thanks

Not a big deal. . . you just need to go out and do this over, over, and over again. You'll figure it out.

You need to take more control over the matter. Allowing her to take control and then complaining about it won't get you far. As far as "number obtaining" is concerned, try to combine the contact request with a SPECIFIC event for a specific time. (ex. A house party for Friday night) Much higher % when going this route than to ask for a number with an "I'll call you sometime." (This is whenever, for whatever)

No, the point is to GET HER NUMBER. Doing this is easier if you get her excited for a specific event for a specific time.

Oh ok, so really the bottom line is that I need to have her number.
