Ok so i have black hair and always/generally cut my hair as a V-Cut, which is short (grade1/2) on the sides and around a grade 5 on top to spike and style...

Its a common hair cut so i was thinking of highlighting the top blonde streaks? what do you guys think? It could come of as peacocking i guess too...

I dont want to come of gay, although this may drop bitch shields i just dont want to come of as gay to guys, so heres a pic:

What do you guys think?

well regardless that IS a super gay hairstyle. hahaha

i would advise against highlights though if you have black hair... i do them every other year or something, but my hair is dirty blonde iwth natural blonde anyways.... so its nto noticeable... just lightens parts a bit more.

black with light highlights is old school.... even if not gay its lame... backstreet boyish...

you could try somethign dramatic like all blonde.. a natural blonde tho.. not bleach..

youtube a video from how i met your mother search for something like "ted goes blonde how i met your mother"

and you'll see what it looks like when a natural black goes blonde....

otherwise... depends on head and facial structure and hair texture, quality that determines what hair style suits you best.. go to a good reputable hair dresser.. if you have thick dark hair.. go to an asian hair dresser.... instead of getting it buzzed up.. just say you want it longer at the top and shorter at the sides and back with lotsa layering/texturing or whatever... makes it look unique but still is pretty much the same cut you normally get.....

i have a big head so eithr short hair or long(just past my eyes) emo style suits me best.. im also not that tall so.... take all that in...

long story short... dont do highlights.....

Im from North America so I donno what its like in the UK.... id stay clear of black with blonde....

Guys, stop judging other guys and let women be the judges(as far as peacoccing).

The google-image linked haircut from Straight up doesnt look gay.

The blond-streak tips is hot.

Anything different,fresh is ok.

Im currently experimenting with a semi-mohawk(very low though on top);just waiting to grow a bit more on hair.

Some ppl may say things like those are try-hard:Bullshit!!Sreaks,spikes,mohawk,colors are all cool especially to women.

I'm not a hairstylist so explaining how your haircut looks means absolutely nothing to me. The one from the picture looked absolutely ridiculous on the other hand. If girl like highlight in UK then I feel absolutely sorry for you, but go ahead if that's what works...

Wo, chill guys. OP, just post a picture and it would really help over here :)

Honestly what suits the best (usually) is normal hair that makes you look humane, alpha, genuine, and a non-wannabe. Anything way out of course kinda gives an impression that you're trying too hard, no offense :) Yet that being said it could suit you nevertheless.

This should help. http://www.askmen.com/fashion/keywords/ ... tyles.html

not trying to argue with you but he did ask for opinions.

the pic of that hair style where I am would be considered a pretty "gay" look. Ya some fluffy girls and maybe some asian girls would dig it. i guess it depends on the types you are looking to attract. 9's and 10's that I've had experience with wouldnt be into that pretty boy look at all... either rugged bad boy, or professional exec, clean.. or somewhere in the middle... ie' messy(stylish) or random light spikey hair, dress shirt un tucked tie, jeans sneakers etc...

hair ISNT the style is a point i should have mentioned tho. it either accentuates or draws from the rest of your style. Be congruent and be what you WANT to be ... your style is just the first impression the rest you have to portray.... other ways

my opinion earlier IS based on feedback from many girls. but that is in MY region and technically my personal experiences.. i may have just met the only girls in the country here that hate that look lol.... im telling you the backstreet boy or (Westlife if youre in the UK) look is waaaaaaay done.

red highlights sparingly may be neat in black.
girls make FUN of guys that look like boy bands.... i dont care who you are or think you are.. she may even love u after you talk to her but she will laugh at you on your way up if you look like a boy band dude.

that bein said also the girls age plays a factor too... if shes newly 18 she might like it... girls around my age 20 - 27 think its lame. (blonde highlights that is)

Not really mate, I disagree with you here. On most men a sophisticated, normal hairstyle works usually much better than a loud trying-too-hard (my personal opinion) hairstyle. It's more about your personality and charm and the enigma you can create, and for all I know, it comes the least from your hair (could go from it though if your hair is badly styled).

Oh and as far as women finding it amazing is concerned, believe me I've been told by many women, they find these hairstyles to be weird and freaky. And I'm not talking of well .. the amazingly good looking men on whom just about anything would look good. I'm talking of the average 5-8 on 10 male here.

1) You dont need to be a hairstylist, just need an imagination...

2) Its not what the girl LIKES, its what I LIKE and if it grabs their attention as peacocking

Im only thinking about this as im 18 VERY soon, so i was thinking of ways i could peacock while clubbing

get a nice, classic 50s style quiff. this is trendy in london right now. it's the best way to do your hair in a distinctive stylish way without looking gay or emo, and it works at various lengths. just don't end up looking like jedward!

you can have the sides short, or keep them longer like this guy:

don't have highlights or stupid over-elaborate messy spikes. all that shit looks makes you look like a hick who's just discovered "metrosexuality".

Looks like its time for a new Pua experiment
Why don't you try it and let us know if it works ?

i don't think anyone ever tested many different hairstyles consistently enough to accurately say what works and what doesn't
